Tokunaga`s Ofukucha, the new year`s tea for healthy and lucky new year.  We offer this special tea every year for already 24 years! Tradition of drinking Ofukucha started in Heian period. It is said to had cured a disease that was spreading in Kyoto at that time. At that time it was served with umeboshi (pickled plum) and kombu (kelp). Nowadays, there are many varieties of Ofukucha according to the area (bancha, houjicha, sencha, genmaicha, tea served with pickled plum and kelp, or without them). Tokunaga`s Ofukucha is high quality steamed tamaryokucha. Enjoy a cup of this delicious tea as a lucky charm for the new year!
