  • Start of shincha season 2019

    New season of fresh tea leaves is here again! The first auction took place in Nishikyushu Trading Centre yesterday. Soon we will have fresh tea to offer. This year the mornings and evenings are still rather cold, with quite a huge difference in temperature during the day. The fresh green colour of the leaves is simply amazing.

  • At Ritz-Carlton in Singapore

    Last week, from Jan 7th to 13th I went on a business trip to Singapore.
    In collaboration with Carrie from TBZM (Tea Bone Zen Mind), who visited us on several occasions, me and three other tea producers from Ureshino participated in an event at the Ritz-Carlton in Singapore. Thanks to Carrie, Ureshino tea was accepted wonderfully by the guests. Preparation of the gorgeous gourmet dinner started several months ago, with a famous chef providing ideas and Carrie perfectly matching each dish with Ureshino tea in different forms. We are thankful for this opportunity to present Ureshino tea to wider population abroad and are looking forward to future projects!

  • Snow in Ureshino

    We woke up to a white morning again! This winter is very generous with snow in our part of Japan too. It rarely snows here. When winter is very cold, like it is this year, shincha is supposed to be very good!

  • Happy new year 2018

    We welcomed the new year with our traditional new year decoration “kadomatsu”. We are wishing you all prosperous, happy and lucky new year!

  • Menburyu

    Menburyu (面浮立) is a traditional local dance, performed at the autumn festival to pray for good harvest. The dancers visited our shop too after performing at the shrine. This happens once in every four years. The dancers wear devil masks and dance to the music of japanese flute (笛), gong (鉦) and drums(和太鼓).
