We are very pleased to announce that Tokunaga Seicha has received the 12th “Saga Saikou Company Award” from Saga Prefecture.
We were particularly recognised for our efforts in three areas:
- Promoting Ureshino tea and Japanese tea culture
- Taking on the challenge of bringing Japanese tea to international markets
- Advancing GX initiatives, including efforts to measure and reduce CO₂ emissions from our operations
Tokunaga Seicha has been making tea in Ureshino, Saga since 1947.
Over the years, we have come to believe that preserving tradition does not mean that we should never change.
If we want to pass Ureshino tea and Japanese tea culture on to the next generation, we also need to change with the times.
We need to continue making better tea, introduce Ureshino tea to people outside Japan, and think carefully about the environmental impact of our business.
These three things may look different. But for us, they come from the same reason. We want to continue making tea in Ureshino, and pass its culture on to the next generation.
We are truly grateful that the work we have continued over the years has been recognised in this way.
This award would not have been possible without the support of our customers, business partners, tea producers, and everyone who has been involved in our activities. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all of you.
We will continue making tea here in Ureshino, while sharing Ureshino tea and Japanese tea culture with people in Japan and around the world.
